Faculdade Medicina do Sertão é avaliada com conceito máximo pelo MEC

Instituição recebeu o conceito 05 pelo Ministério da Educação (MEC)

A Faculdade Medicina do Sertão recebeu, em sua primeira avaliação, a nota máxima pelo Ministério da Educação (MEC). O resultado da avaliação foi divulgado on-line nesta segunda-feira (26/08), informando a pontuação.

Para a análise, dois avaliadores foram à instituição e consideraram critérios como o corpo docente, projeto pedagógico, infraestrutura, programas de residência médica e os campos de práticas. Para este último, os examinadores do MEC visitaram a clínica-escola São Leopoldo Mandic, que pertence à instituição, e as redes conveniadas, como hospitais, UPAs e UBS da região.

Também foram destacados alguns pontos importantes para a conclusão da nota do MEC, como o investimento em educação continuada. A instituição oferece aos profissionais o curso de Mestrado em Medicina Translacional, que já está em sua terceira turma.

Outro aspecto destacado foi o fato de a instituição ampliar o número de médicos na região, promovendo a interiorização em um local que possui um número baixo de profissionais da saúde. Em Arcoverde, há 1,6 médicos para cada mil habitantes.

Arthur Filgueiras, diretor da Faculdade Medicina do Sertão, ressaltou o impacto da nota máxima do MEC: “Essa é a garantia de que os alunos estão recebendo uma formação de excelência, que estão em uma instituição, pioneira no sertão, que assumiu esse desafio e está trazendo uma formação médica de excelência aos novos profissionais. Todos os alunos sairão com um diploma que possui a nota 05, pois não temos egressos e a turma mais avançada está no nono período.”

A Faculdade do Sertão foi inaugurada em 2020, sendo a primeira instituição de ensino superior de medicina na cidade de Arcoverde, com o objetivo de formar e ampliar o número de médicos na região, que faz parte da terceira macrorregional e conta com três hospitais: o Hospital Eduardo Campos, o Hospital Regional Ruy de Barros Correia e o Hospital Afogados da Ingazeira.
